ScotRail West Highland Line affected by Queen Street Improvement Works in 2016

13 Jan 2016

OVERVIEW

As part of ScotRail's preparations to deliver faster, longer, greener trains for Scotland Glasgow Queen Street High Level tunnel will close for essential upgrading for 20 weeks from Sunday 20 March; re-opening on Monday 8 August.  This means that Queen Street High Level station will temporarily close too. Queen Street Low Level station will remain open and services will be diverted either to Low Level or to Glasgow Central.

Mallaig / Fort William / Oban - Glasgow (West Highland Line)

The West Highland Line services will be diverted via Glasgow Queen Street Low Level station and will take approx 25 minutes longer. As time for boarding and alighting at Glasgow will be limited, additional staff will be on hand to help customers with luggage etc. Seat reservations and catering will continue to be provided.

Journey Planning Information

Timetables will be available to download from 20 February, and available to pick up in station booking offices from 6 March. Alternatively, information can be found through the Journey Planning app on the ScotRail website.
