A very Happy New Year to you and yours - we hope you had a great time over the festive period!
Christmas and Hogmanay were stark contrasts on Knoydart this year. Many locals were away visiting friends and family for Christmas leaving the place very quiet. The weather was unpredictable as usual and the wind cancelled boats and made getting away for Xmas food shopping a bit difficult, but everyone that wanted to get out and back was able to in the end! Jacqui's annual boxing day open house party was yet another great night and an opportunity to get together, enjoy a bit of craic and catch up.
Move forward a week and the place was jumping for Hogmanay. Two days of events in Inverie Village Hall brought together locals, returning visitors and many new faces to enjoy a weekend of fantastic music from Fras and Sketch, followed by a huge music session on the 1st. Videos can be found on the Inverie Village Hall facebook page from over the weekend. It was also great to see the young locals joining in and showing off their talent!
Next up is the annual community Burns Supper on Saturday 21st January, and after a well earned rest the volunteer committee of Inverie Village Hall will be back to work organizing the coming year's line up of entertainment and music, so keep your eyes peeled on our Events page.
