Doune Bay Lodge is situated at the Southern end of Doune Bay and looks west across the Sound of Sleat to the Skye Cuillins. When staying at Doune Bay Lodge your food is taken in the Doune Dining room, which includes breakfast and a three course meal in the restaurant and a packed lunch for you to take with you during the day. Doune bay lodge is informal accommodation for up to 12 guests - simple but with everything you need - think of it as a 'Wilderness Beach Lodge'. The property features 4 single and 4 twin rooms, an open plan living area, furnished with comfy sofas and chairs, kitchen area with hot drink making facilities and a fridge. The shared utility area has 3 showers, 2 toilets, hand basins and drying facilities. Outside there is a full length veranda which leads on to your own private beach. Doune Lodge is off-grid, with power coming from renewable sources and the water comes straight off the hill (filtered and tested of course). Guests have access to charter our fast boat Mary Doune for access to the Knoydart Coastline and Small Isles. So whether you a large group of friends or families or just a couple who wants to have the lodge to yourself, Doune Bay Lodge can accommodate you. Dogs are most welcome.

Doune Stone Lodges
Sleeps up to 8

Doune is a special place on the North west coast of the UK’s last wilderness, Knoydart. We have three en-suite guest rooms that can each sleep two adults in either twin beds or a superking size bed. Each room also has a mezzanine floor which can sleep two children. The day begins with a cooked breakfast in the dining room, or a simple breakfast in your room, accompanied by our sourdough breads and as much tea and coffee as you need. Lunch is a pack up to take out on the boat, up the hill or maybe just down to the beach for the day. Dinner is a set menu served at 7.30pm in The Dining Room and is carefully put together with locally sourced meat, fish and shellfish, and vegetables grown either at Doune or in the Knoydart community gardens. Part of the excitement of a stay at Doune is getting here. We run our own boat Gripper II which is available for the transfer from Mallaig, and also for day trips to bays around Loch Nevis and Loch Hourn. Alternatively, we can arrange transport from Inverie which is a 6 mile drive before the 15 minute walk down to Doune - good walking boots and a sense of adventure (and humour!) are essential criteria for Doune visitors! Well behaved dogs welcome.
